The HFI magnetic stud girth is a jumping girth with a belly guard from the Belgian brand HFI. In the centre is a snap hook for a breastplate or martingale, covered by a soft leather insert with magnets. According to HFI, this reduces the risk of shoes and studs getting caught in the snap hook. For show jumpers who ride with a breastplate or martingale and want a wide choice of lengths.
About this stud girth
A stud girth has a wider section under the belly that shields it when the horse tucks its forelegs under its body over a fence. If you ride with a breastplate or martingale attached to the girth, there is a second point to consider: the attachment point in the centre.
On this HFI model, that attachment point, a central snap hook, sits under a soft leather insert with magnets. The insert covers the snap hook. According to HFI, this reduces the risk of shoes or studs getting caught in it. Side rings are fitted for draw reins.
The girth fastens with stainless steel roller buckles and is finished with cream stitching. At Maddelin it is available in Black and Brown, in every length from 110 cm to 145 cm, in 5 cm steps.
Within the Maddelin range, the Trust Hagen also has a magnetic cover over the attachment buckle. The difference lies in the execution: the Hagen is anatomically shaped with foam and has nickel-plated brass buckles, while the HFI has a snap hook, stainless steel roller buckles and a much wider size range.
