The Kentucky Anatomische Buiklapsingel Wol is an anatomical stud girth for jumping, with a removable artificial sheepskin cover. Its shape keeps the elbows free, and the fleece gives a soft layer against the skin. It is meant for show jumpers who want a fleece stud girth with a flat central hook that sits flush in the girth and a synthetic leather strap that repels water, sweat and dirt.
About this stud girth
Despite the word 'wol' (wool) in the name, the fleece is not real wool: Kentucky uses artificial sheepskin, a synthetic fleece. It is attached to the girth with hook-and-loop fastening, so you can take it off and wash it separately. Beneath the fleece is a strap of nylon-reinforced synthetic leather with a cushioning EVA inner layer.
Kentucky has shaped this girth anatomically so the elbows stay free. You notice this most when jumping, as your horse brings its front legs far forward and up. There is elastic at both ends, so you can girth up evenly on the left and the right.
In the centre is a strong flat hook that sits flush in the girth, together with a central buckle. The girth also has 3 D-rings for draw reins. The synthetic leather is made of synthetic leather and polyester, repels water, sweat and dirt, and is cleaned daily with Tack Cleaner.
In the Kentucky range at Maddelin, this is the anatomical stud girth with fleece. The same girth without fleece is the Kentucky Anatomische Buiklapsingel. Note: according to Kentucky, the cover of the Kentucky Sheepskin stud girth does not fit this model.
