About this bridle
What characterises this bridle first of all is the leather. It is European leather that has been vegetable-tanned. That tanning process works with tannins from plant sources instead of mineral salts, and you notice it in how the leather behaves: it feels firmer at first, it breaks in more slowly and it gains a deeper, warmer colour over the years. Anyone with patience for a new bridle is rewarded with leather that really shapes itself to the horse's head instead of going soft straight away.
The headpiece is ergonomically shaped. Instead of a straight strap over the poll, the headpiece follows a line that keeps the base of the ears free and spreads the weight of the bridle more widely across the poll. For the horse that means less point loading on one narrow strip, and more freedom of movement for the ears.
The noseband is a combined noseband: a noseband with a flash strap that runs underneath the bit. The flash strap keeps the bit lying more quietly in the mouth, which keeps the contact with your hand more even. What is special about this model is that the flash strap is removable. If you are riding a session where you do not want it, you take it off and you are left with a classic noseband. That makes the same bridle usable in two set-ups.
The finish follows the classic D Collection signature: cream stitching that outlines the lines of headpiece and noseband, measured strap widths and a carefully finished edge. It is a timeless bridle that serves for dressage, jumping and daily use alike.
